So what is conGuu CMS?

conGuu CMS is a tool that enables you to add, edit and delete pages on your website. You can upload images, videos, Word documents, PDFs, in fact almost any file type for inclusion as a download on your website. You can even set future publish dates for your articles and pages.

Why is all this so important and whats in it for me?

Whats important to recognise is why you wanted a website in the first place. In almost every case its because you wanted the content contained within it to be noticed by as many relevant people as possible. Whether it’s for a business or an individual, there are some fundamental things that will help your website climb the rankings on the major search engines. These are:

  • How often does your web site content change? The more frequently the better and ideally at least once per month.
  • How relevant is the content to your audience? Good keyword/keyphrase rich content is essential to acheving a good position.
  • How big is your audience and how large is the appetite for your content? Ensure that people are actually looking for the types of things you want to put on your website.
  • How many competitors in the same content space do you have? More competitors typically means more work.
  • Valid and accessible HTML (we do this in your templates)
  • Correct use of HTML tags (we do this in your templates)

If you have built up a picture and can put some positive measurable statistics against the above, then you’re ready for a CMS. What a well structured, regularly updated, relevant website can do is produce more page impressions (some people incorrectly call these “hits”). More relevant page content can produce “dwell time” in other words how long a user spends on each page, which normally means they’re digesting it’s content and are more likely to buy/spread the word. More page impressions should mean more leads and more leads should mean more sales/more visibility and kudos for your web site and it’s content.

As a business all this means it can deliver you higher revenue, even without the ecommerce module. As an individual it can help you become the Uberblogger of all time.

Why should I choose conGuu CMS over any other CMS?

Whats extremely exciting is the way that you edit your conGuu CMS site. Traditionally most CMS use a form based editor so that you type the values into a form, click a “submit” button and then take a peek at the page on the live website. This method is time consuming and doesn’t give the user a realtime live example of what their content looks like whilst editing it. conGuu CMS Version 2 is different. It uses a WYSIWYG approach and you edit the content on the page in situ, allowing you to see whats happening and how text and images will look and reflow on the page as you type. You can also reorganise articles on the page by simply dragging and dropping them.

conGuu CMS2 has been written to behave more like an application than a web site, giving you tools to upload images, manage the order of your navigational elements, reorganise articles on the page, drag in images into each article, the list simply goes on and on. The simplest way to explain conGuu CMS is to compare it to Microsoft Word but for websites.

What if I want to sell items on my web site?

We have developed a specific conGuu CMS ecommerce module that can be easily bolted on to your own account, giving you the ability to create products (virtual or physical) with a price, quantity and shipping weights. For more information on the ecommerce module please visit our online shop page.

I’d like to display image galleries and albums on my web site.

Because conGuu CMS2 is so flexible, we have been able to create a galleries module for it that allows you to manage galleries and albums. You can even limit access by username and password or watermark your uploaded images with your own watermark. If you tie the galleries module to the ecommerce module, you could even sell your images online. This would be especially useful for professional photographers needing their own branded and designed website. Take a look at our galleries module for conGuu CMS. Here you can find web site examples and specifications on this module.

All of the features in the feature list above are included in all versions of conGuu CMS2 with the exception of the features marked as “optional”. If you require something more specific then please contact us.
