How do I configure Outlook Express?

1. Launch Outlook Express and click on the tools menu and select accounts from the dropdown menu

2. Click on the Mail tab and then click on the Add button to the right and select Mail

3. Fill in your own name here as you want it to appear when you send an email and click next >

4. Fill in your email address next and click next >

5. Ensure that the incoming mail server is set to POP3 or IMAP depending on the service that you require.

In the incoming mail box type in the POP3/IMAP server you were given with your account settings.

In the outgoing mail box enter the SMTP server as provided by your own ISP (the company providing your connection to the internet). You can also use your own SMTP server by entering the SMTP server name as provided. Please note that if you use the SMTP server provided by Bluebit Ltd, you will need to configure some extra settings (see authentication for SMTP). Click next >

5a.Authentication for Bluebit SMTP If you would like to use your own SMTP server simply fill this in form the details provided and ensure that you have checked the "My server requires authentication" tick box in the "servers" tab. Then click on the "settings" button and ensure that "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is the default option.

6.Fill in the account name in the box. Your POP/IMAP account name will have been provided in your signup email.

Enter your password as provided in the signup email and tick the box to Remember password. Leave the Log on using Secure Password Authetication unchecked.

7. If all is well you should get a congratulations window. Simply click Finish, then click the Close Button on the next window and you're done
